This York Stone floor in Queniborough was last professionally sealed around 5–6 years ago and over time, the protective finish had begun to wear, leaving the stone looking paler and more susceptible to everyday dirt and staining.
To restore and protect the floor, we carried out the following process:
✅ Removed worn sealers and surface contaminants
✅ Deep cleaned the stone using specialist stone-safe cleaning products
✅ Neutralised the surface to remove cleaning residues and prepare the stone for sealing
✅ Allowed the floor to fully dry before treatment
✅ Applied a solvent-based protective sealant suitable for rough and honed York Stone
✅ Enhanced the natural colour structure and variation within the stone

Two very different wood floors and two finishing systems, each chosen to suit how the space is used.
This recent wood floor restoration project in Sapcote involved sanding and refinishing a pine floorboard kitchen and a strip oak hallway, with each floor receiving a tailored finish to achieve the best long-term result.
The pine floorboards in the kitchen were sanded back to bare wood before being finished with an Arboritec 2K (two-component) lacquer. Kitchens are often exposed to spills, splashes and heavier foot traffic, so a lacquered finish provides a durable, hard-wearing protective layer that is easier to clean and maintain.
In the hallway, the strip oak floor was carefully sanded and refinished using the Arboritec Solid Oil system. Unlike a lacquer, the oil penetrates the wood rather than sitting on the surface, making future maintenance and spot repairs easier when the floor eventually needs a refresh.
When it comes to wood floor restoration, the finish is just as important as the sanding itself. The type of timber, the room's use and the look the customer wants to achieve all help determine the most suitable finishing system.
