Pine Floor Restoration in Leire – Two Floors and Staircase
We recently completed a professional pine floor restoration in Leire, transforming two upper floors and a narrow staircase with precision.

The top-level floor was carefully gap-filled using Bona GapMaster, colour-matched to the floor below for a seamless finish. Previously dark brown, all floors and stairs were sanded back using coarse, medium, and fine grit abrasives. Edges and tricky areas were hand-sanded, while the main boards were sanded with Bona floor sanding machines.
Once stripped, the pine was water-popped to open the grain, preparing it for an application of Fiddes ‘Light Oak’ stain, which enhanced the natural warmth, knots, and grain. To complete the restoration, we applied Arboritec primer followed by 2K lacquer, providing a durable, long-lasting finish across the floors and staircase. The staircase now features a popular two-tone design, with natural wood treads and painted white risers—a design choice planned during our restoration to complement the staircase rails and create a cohesive, stylish look.
Professional pine floor restoration in Leire ensures precision sanding, expert gap-filling, and high-quality finishes—delivering a flawless result that enhances both the beauty and longevity of your timber floors.

Frequently Asked questions
Q: Is the sanding process dust-free?
We use modern professional floor sanding machines that are virtually dust-free. Their powerful suction systems capture most of the dust, keeping your home clean throughout the restoration process.
Q: Is gap-filling recommended?
Yes! We recommend filling the gaps between floorboards to reduce drafts, improve insulation, and create a smoother, more seamless appearance for your floor.
Q: Can I change the colour of my pine floor?
Absolutely! Once we sand your floor down to bare wood, we can apply a range of stains or wood dyes to achieve your desired look, including custom tones. We always test samples on your actual floorboards to ensure the perfect finish.
Q: How often to refinish a pine floor?
Solid pine floors can be refinished multiple times over their lifetime, often up to ten times. In a typical home setting, we usually recommend applying a new finish every 3–5 years to keep your floors protected and looking their best.
